"O L-RD, Who are my power and my strength and my refuge in the day of trouble, to You nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, 'Only lies have our fathers handed down to us, emptiness in which there is nothing of any avail! Can a man make gods for himself, and they are no gods? 'Therefore, behold I let them know; at this time I will let them know My power and My might, and they shall know that My Name is the L-RD".
Jeremiah 16:19-21

Issues of Contradiction

Christian texts state

The apparently contradicted teaching from Torah

The N.T. seems to teach that Jes’us is equal to the Creator.  Torah teaches that the Creator isincorporeal and immutable.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with G-d, and the Word was G-d…  All things came into being through him, and apart from him nothing came into being that has come into being…  And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,…” NASB from John chapter 1 .
“For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because he not only was breaking the Sabbathbut also was calling G-d His own Father, making himself equal with G-d.” NASB from John 5:18

“Thus says the L-RD your Redeemer and Former from the womb: ‘I am the L-RD, Maker of everything, Who stretched the heavens alone and Who spread the earth by Myself.” – Isaiah 44:24
Hosea 11:9 – “…for I am G-d and not a man, the Holy [One] in your midst, but I will not come into a city.”
The Almighty says He is not a man in addition to saying that He does not change:
“…for I am the L-RD and I do not change, therefore you, O sons of Ya’aqov (Jacob) are not consumed.” – Malachi 3:6
Are we going to make Him into a liar by claiming that He “became flesh?”  Heaven forbid!  For “‘G-d’ is not a man that He may lie, nor a son of man that He may feelcompunction.” – Numbers 29:19

There are passages in the N.T. which seem to teach that the Torah(the Instruction divinely given to Moses) is no longer applicable to mankind as it was before Jes’us came, whether completely or partially:
Regarding the commandments of the Torah it is commanded:
The entirething which I am commanding you— you shall observe it to do it; you shall not add unto it, nor diminish from it.” (Deuteronomy 4:2; 12:32)

Colossians 2:16-17 “Therefore no one should act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day– things which are merely a shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.”
Galatians 5:2 “Behold I, Paul, declare to you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no benefit to you.”
Ephesians 2:15 “..in his flesh he abolished the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances…”

Leviticus 19:17 & 19 “You shall not hate your brother in your heart; you must certainlyrebuke your neighbour, and not bear sin because of him…19 You shall keep My statutes…”

Genesis 17:12-13 “And every male among you who is eight days old shall becircumcised throughout your generations, …thus shall My covenant be in your flesh as an everlasting covenant.”
Numbers 15:15 “As for the community (of Israel), there shall be one law for you and for the one who converted and joined with you; An eternal Law throughout your generations, as you are, so shall the convert be before the ALL-TRANSCENDENT One.”
Deuteronomy 29:29 “…the hidden things belong to the L-RD our G-d, but that which is revealed belongs to us and our sons foreverto do all the words of this Torah.”

There are passages in the N.T. which seem to teach that the People of Israel are cast away or replaced.  The Torah teaches that the People of Israel are set-apart for a distinct purpose forever:

Romans 2:29 “But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter;” [NASB]  (The “New” Test. often uses the term “the letter” as a reference to the Law of Moses – the Torah.)
Romans 9:6-8 “But it is not as though the word of God has failed; for they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;”nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but: “THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL BE NAMED.” That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.” [NASB]
Philippians 3:3 “for we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh,…” [NASB]  (The “New” Test. often uses the term “the circumcision” as a reference to the Jewish People)
1 Peter 2:8-10 “for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed. 9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 for you once were NOT A PEOPLEbut now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.”  (In these verses it appears that the historical Israel is doomed, and now the position of choseness with all its titles which one applied to the historical Israel [see Deuteronomy 14:2 ] have been placed upon the Christian Church.)

Psalm 147:19-20He declares His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances untoIsrael.  He has not done so with any other nations; and as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Hallelu Y-h!”
Deuteronomy 14:2 “For you are a holy people unto the L-RD thy All-Powerful Authority, and the L-RD hath chosen you to be His own treasure out of all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.”
2nd Samuel 7:24 “..You have established for Yourself Your People Israel as Your own people FOREVER,….”
Psalm 105:10-11 “Then He confirmed it to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as aneverlasting covenant, saying, ‘To you I shall give the Land of Canaan, as the portion of your inheritance,'”
Deuteronomy 18:5 “For the L-RD your All-Powerful Authority has chosen them [tribe of Levi] and their descendants out of all your tribes to stand and minister in the L-RD’s name for ever.”
Jeremiah 31:36 “Thus says the L-RD: Ifthe heavens above could be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then also would I cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says the L-RD.”
Leviticus 26:43-44 “…and they shall be given the punishment of their transgression; because, as a consequence of their having rejected my judgments, and their souls having abhorred my statutes.  AND YET DESPITE ALL THIS, even while they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject themneithershall I abhor them so as to eradicate them and thus break My Covenant with THEM – for I am the ALL-TRANSCENDENT their Venerable-Authority.”

There are passages in the N.T. which seem to teach divine forgiveness, atonement, or eternal life are given in a manner contrary to thattaught in the Torah:

“…without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.”  – NASB Hebrews 9:22;
“He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of G-d abides on him.” – NASB John 3:36;

Leviticus 5:10-12 teaches that one can be atoned for using pigeons or even flour, in a case that one can not afford the animal sacrifice, and be forgiven.  Leviticus 26:41 teaches that when the people of Israel will be dispersed among the nations, that when they confess their sins and return to keeping the Torah that the Almighty will forgive them; this will be WITHOUT their needing to bring ANY kind of blood-sacrifice, since sacrifices are only allowed to be done at the place ‘G-d’ would choose – the Temple in Jerusalem (Deut. 12:13-14), but these verses teach their being forgiveness even outside of the Land of Israel – without the possibility of making sacrifices.
